Hi I just wanted to share that my eldest child is Emily, she will be 5 in September. She watched these videos since she was a young baby and she can now read basically anything I put in front of her. Her latest thing she loves to read is her bible....what great joy it brings us to see her do this!

She is going to school next year but can already read like a year 2 student....I know this because I am a primary school teacher and know what kind of levels children read at.

Most recently though my 14 month old son Liam has begun to respond to the written word...he has also watched the DVD since he was a few months old and now he is a very verbal baby and can read the following words..."cat", "baby", "clap".....he is loving this system too and always copies his older sister in reading books....they are always off the shelf every day...

We love books so much that now I have joined a company which sells books just so I can keep up with the reading demands of my children!! These videos are such a blessing!!! Thankyou!!

My daughter has been using the videos for 5 months. We started when she turned 2. She is now 29 months and reading almost every word on the cards. She is even spelling some of the easier ones independently. She was speaking at a 10 month developmental age at her 2 year evaluation. She was just retested and is at a 33 month developmental age. I have just ordered the next series "Your Child Can Learn" because she is getting bored and we want to keep challenging her. I only wish we had started earlier!!

I bought my great grandson, Kaden the complete set when he was just a few months old. He started watching these videos at that time. When he started crawling all we had to do was turn the video on and he was right there at the TV. He loved these videos, he is now 16 months old and was getting his choice of video to watch.

Unfortunately about 5 weeks ago he and his mothers apartment and 12 other tenants were burned out of their homes in the same fire. The apartment complex has to be completely rebuilt. It occurred in Canal Fulton Ohio. I can not afford to buy him another one. He keeps looking for his DVDs and after awhile he just starts crying. I just wanted people to know out there that your baby can read really helps and teaches a lot more than reading.

Thanks for your time.

Oliver's new favourite book is the 'Prepositions' book which he will seek out amongst all the other books in his bookcase.  I think it's funny that I ask him to go find a book and he comes back with this one more often than not... some adults visitors are unaware what 'prepositions' mean and think it's amusing that the 17 month old gets a kick out of learning about them.  He is now starting to read some of the words (out loud) and that's exciting!

Thanks again to Dr. Tizer for the remarkable learning tools, we are very grateful for the head start our boy has now.

Our son Oliver started watching the DVDs when he was 3 months old and every day since it's the highlight of his morning. His eyes light up when he sees the introduction and hears the music and he is very attentive, especially with 'word games' He is now 13 months old and still loves watching. I'm amazed that I can place 3 word cards on the ground and ask him which one says "tongue' or 'clap' or whatever and he will 9 times out of 10 pick up the correct card. He does actions to song and follows the direction on the DVD with things like 'hold your head' or 'arms up' (which is helpful when we're getting dressed). We purchased the whole pack and as he gets older we are using more and more of the different things - he loves them all and will seek out these books and cards when he's asked to choose what he wants to read from an entire bookshelf of books. It was great today to be able to meet Dr Tizer at Baby Kingdom in Sydney and get some more tips for games etc. I'm sure Oliver recognised him from the DVD's and would have stayed for hours as the DVD was playing in the background. When we first got the pack we thought - well if nothing else, he'll be entertained for 20-30 minutes each day - but now we're convinced of the amazing results. We love that he has such a love of learning and can see that it will continue to get better and better. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

My name is Rebecca and I have the Your baby can read dvd's and books and flashcards and I recently attended Dr. Titzer's seminar in Brisbane and also saw him and yourself at the Brisbane baby show.

My son has just turned 2 and his vocabulary is incredible, he can say and read 100's of words and can string together sentences quite well (up to 6 worded sentences). He knows all his shapes (including ones like pentagon & hexagon), colours and has been able to count to 10 for a few months now.  He has been able to say all the letters in the alphabet for a number of months but not all in order yet. His advanced literacy skills have been due to Your Baby Can Read plus we read a lot of books to him everyday and it also helps that he wants to learn. I now have another son who is 4 weeks old and I will certainly start him watching the dvd's in a few months.

On the other hand my sister has a daughter who is 9 years old and is struggling to read at school, she seems to know the words but can't put it all together.

I began the "Your Baby Can Read" program with my 15 month old. It took 6.5 months, and consisted of watching one of five, 30 minute dvd's everyday. I watched them with her, usually on my lap with my arms around her. The dvd's are fun and have vivid pictures, actions, songs, and poems and feature the written word throughout. We did not use word cards at all during this time. After a break for summer (May through August), I decided to introduce some of the words she saw in the dvd's on word cards. She learned 3 words the first night, 8 words the next day, and is now upto 25 words after 18 days. View on U-Tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDHGULqGj9o It is incredible. It works. I am sure it will become the norm, once word gets out, I cant say enough about it. What an advantage my child will have in reading, in school, and in life.

Thanks to 'Your Baby Can Read' my 16th month old son can already read and clearly pronounce words such as: dog, cat, duck, truck, hi, car, book, moon, and others, as well as doing the appropriate actions for wave, clap, arms up, head, ears, toes, and the list goes on.

I continue to brag to everyone who will listen, however I can see the look of scepticism, especially by those mothers with 4 and 5 year olds who have only ever been read to, and never encouraged to recognise the structure of words and sentences.

My little boy shows an obvious sense of achievement every time he conquers a new word or action, and always seems far more interested in watching a 'Your Baby Can Read' dvd, than 'The Wiggles', or 'Thomas the Tank Engine'.

Thank you for a wonderfully educational product!

My son who is 3 months old has been watching "My Baby Can Read" for almost a month and I am very pleased with the results so far. He gets very excited every time he watches it, which is several times a day! He even prefers it to cartoons! It was definitely money well spent, and I would highly recommend it to all parents out there! Good luck Victoria

My son Andrew was barely talking at 18 months. His speech was a confused mix of sounds and we took him to a speech therapist and many referrals to different specialists followed. An audiologist showed he had less that 25% hearing and an ENT specialist confirmed his constant ear infections had left him with a rigid, swollen ear drum that needed grommetts.

After the surgery I purchased "Your Baby Can Read" as a way to help boost Andrew's vocabulary. His grasp of words has improved since I got the full package, although grommetts went in just before this so there is some credit there.

But what amazed me is I wanted to help my son talk- but he can read. At 2 yrs he reads almost all of the flash cards. I will still teach him Phonics but this is a great start.

Thanks so much- money well spent.

I am the biggest skeptic about the educational systems for babies, Baby Einstein, etc. I know that all parents (like me) are gullible when it comes to giving our children the best start in life and there are many fads out there.

I came across the Your Baby Can Read system when Sebastian was 6 months old. He has 2 cousins with severe language delays, so I thought that it was worth the money if it only kick started Sebastian's vocabulary.

Sebastian loves the DVD's and was always able to sit through the most of them. We played them 2 times a day - it was awesome to have 2 x 30 minutes that I could have a break knowing he was entertained. He does not watch any other TV. People think I am lying when I say to them that he does not know who Hi 5 or Wiggles are. Anyway, Sebastian is 18 months now and is still watching DVD's. When he gets up, he grabs the remote and says "TV". He is talking and his word fund is advanced for his age.

I thought that DVD's had an impact on the speedy language development, and I was happy - for me it was money well spent. THEN I NOTICED THAT HE IS SAYING WORDS AHEAD OF TIME!!! I tested him and he knows to read more words than what he usually says!!! Also his pronunciation is much better when he reads than when he speaks!!! I usually do not leave testimonials, as I do not believe in them, but I thought that there are heaps of skeptical parents, who think that this is another fad.

IF YOUR CHILD WATCHES TV AT ALL, MAKE IT YOUR BABY CAN READ, BECAUSE NIGHTGARDEN, HI 5 AND WIGGLES WILL NOT TEACH THEM ANYTHING.

Kind Regards,
Iris

Hi there,

I have a nine month old daughter. She has been watching the DVDs since she was 8 weeks old. She has watched all the videos as per the recommended viewing schedule but has just completed watching the review video. She can consistently choose the right word, when shown two cards, which I find amazing at 9 months.

But what next? I read the books, the flash cards and we have the word games. Should I be introducing new words (given that she seems to be able to read them by correctly choosing when asked) or just keep showing her the words on the DVDs, books, cards?

The program is amazing! I've told everyone about it, although some people think I'm crazy! Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks

Anaïs is now reading four to five word sentences out loud and writing a
minimal - say 5 to 7 words if lucky - from the flash cards - 19 months - as
well as reading all of the words from the flash cards (she now knows 30 +
words/can also say them as well as all letters a-z (we never taught her that
so I am assuming its from the cards) and numbers up to 20 +.

My daughter started watching these videos at age 4 months, once per day until she was around 15 months old when she became bored with them. She never really took to the flash cards, but my husband put together a book of words from the series plus others and by 15 months she could read all of them, that is around 200 words! Now at almost 2 she can read some basic readers and loves reading anything. She amazes people in the supermarket when she reads labels and signs. Amazing product, totally recommend it, although I think it is best to start early.

Dear Dr Titzer,
Thank you for your videos and books. It took a little faith in both your method and our son to undertake teaching him to read when we discovered he had Down Syndrome. We started showing Xervier the videos at 4 months of age. We also started teaching him sign language from birth. He used his first sign ("milk") at 13 months and read his first word ("drinking") at 14 months. It is three months later and he is reading and signing up a storm! I'm sure he can read all the words in the flash card set - he just doesn't have the signs or the physical co-ordination yet to show us. You can see him in action at the following link. Thanks again.

We are thrilled to have discovered Dr Bob Titzer's "Your Baby Can Read" concept and it was such a bonus to meet Dr Titzer and hear him speak about his program when he was here in Melbourne last week.

This program is a fantastic early childhood development tool for helping babies and young children to maximise their natural learning abilities - at the best and the earliest age - by teaching them to recognise and read written language when the brain is at its most receptive. All this, far earlier than we previously thought possible!

Dr Titzer's program is aimed at guiding and assisting the normal developmental processes which are already occurring naturally in the infant brain and he has presented the concept in a way that is both easily understood - from a developmental perspective - and easily applicable, to the peak period of brain development. He shows this period starts very soon after birth and continues throughout the earliest years of childhood.

We can see that the results of this teaching technique are simply outstanding. They maximise the multiple aspects of the development of any child in a way that gives that child the best possible start to be an effective reader, with skilful reading forming the basis for all future learning. What a great foundation for a new life!

We fully intend to utilise these concepts to help our first child - due within the next few weeks - and we are excited to know that by using the "Your Baby Can Read" model, we can tap into a natural process, in an easy, fun-filled way, to help our child start his life, by really enjoying reading and learning in an efficient, rapid and retentive way which will give him the best start to lifelong effective learning.

It was great to meet Dr Titzer and we would welcome the opportunity to be involved in any further courses or programs as well as future opportunities to hear Dr Titzer speak on this subject. We would also be keen to keep in touch through newsletters and any other forms of communication you may offer.

Thank you once again for this great opportunity to learn about a really progressive and ground breaking program...

Yours most sincerely,

I attended the Your Baby Can Read Seminar at the Wentworthville Clovel Childcare Centre on Tuesaday Night. My 2yr 9mth old daughter attends the centre and I have seen first hand the positive effect on her reading skills.

The first time I saw her read the word gorilla I was so proud that I cried happy tears. Dr Titzer was an amazing speaker and has a fabulous way of relating, not only with babies, toddlers and preschoolers, but their proud parents. While I was purchasing the DVD and book sets that night, my daughter asked "what are you doing mum?" I replied "I am investing in your future". I was so inspired, excited and motivated, I was unable to sleep that night. I can't wait until tomorrow when we can watch the DVD's and read the books together.

I encourage any parent who has the opportunity to attend one of Dr Titzer's seminars to do so. The price is amazingly affordable, and the wealth of information is unforgettable. For those who are about to be parents, or have friends or loved ones about to become parents, this system would be the perfect gift that will continue to keep on giving forever and ever. Enjoy, I know I will! Amanda Dietsch.

My daughter is three now but we purchased the YBCR video set when she was 18 months and only played them once a day. Just before she was two years old I tested her with a very long word list and also hand writing on a writing board and she read literally hundreds of words. The love of reading she developed through the videos and have made other learning activites easy for her too with her counting and comprehension skills far exceeding her years. We now use books intended for 7 year old and up because her vocabulary is so good now.

Our 2 yr old son was diagnosed with microcephaly one year ago.  We were told he would have developmental delays - we were not sure if these would be mild to severe.  I quit my job and we are doing everything to maximise his progress.  He is showing as mild / moderate delays at this stage.  We attended the US Institute for the Advancement of Human Potential in Dec.

They pioneered the 'teach your baby to read' phenomenon some 40 + years ago.

We have also used the Titzer video and cards.  Hudson loves his 'words' and knows a good many sight words already.  We are so thrilled with his progress!

I have included it in our homeschool timetable 9am - 12noon. We've played the Starter DVD 4 times now (2 times a day) with reading the matching book in the afternoon, 3pm -5pm (adventure time) and our daughter (2 yrs 9months)can already read the words "hi, elephant, baby, tiger, clap". The boys (10mnths) will open their mouths when we say "open your mouth". It's fantastic! My husband and I are thrilled! Thanks and we'll be in touch soon.

To whom it may concern,

Our daughter Kanita has been watching the “You’re baby can read” DVD’s and reading the accompanying books since I purchased them over 2 years ago.

She is now about 2 years and 5 months old and is able to read almost every word in each book making her reading vocabulary well over 60 words.  We have not actively coached her to learn as we did not want to pressure her into reading, but merely tried to assist her to be ahead of her peers when she starts school.

My wife and I were amazed when 3 months ago she started reading words in the books.  We hadn’t realised she could read already and could hardly believe it when she read her first 3 words cat, dog and hi.  I recommend anyone who wants their child to start in front at school rather than behind, use these products as early as possible and give their children the best start to their education.

My son has been watching these dvds since he was about 8 months old.

I tried really hard to stick to the schedule but found that once he could walk (10 months) and run (at 11 months) he was not interested in watching the tv anymore. I would still put it on anyway as i could see that from time to time when he was playing he would glance over at the tv. I could get through about 3 or 4 word cards at a time before he was off.

My sons motor skills are just fantastic but unfortunately he is a very very late talker. Also because he preferred to just run around all day he would never ever sit still and read a short book with me until just recently. I can say that we have never ever finished reading a book together! (even though i would attempt with great encouragement every day!). Its difficult to keep showing word cards with zero feedback. I also have a blackboard which i wrote words and drew pictures on every day as well.

Now at the age of two and a half I've discovered that he has actually taken in a lot of the words. He has only just started to say the words himself. We can sit and look at a few pages of level one phonic readers and he reads the words which I point to (one or two sentences per page). I must point out that when not reading he does not put a sentence together! He can read much better than he can talk!

Prior to him starting to read, the child health nurses were convinced that he was delayed and had ADD, now they have flip flopped and think he is brilliant! He is starting speech therapy tommorrow but i can see his reading is helping his speech so much and he is improving everyday.

Thankyou so much for your program!

We bought the videos and books when my son was only about 5 months old. We went through the whole series and we continue to use them. Around 14 months, my son was diagnosed with two very rare conditions(neurological and syndrome). He is developmentally delayed in all areas. Amazingly though, now 2.5 years, he does not speak, walk, or do many 'milestones', he can see words and comprehend their meaning. This has been fantastic in his development and communication to us. He gets excited when he sees the words 'toy car' and looks around the room for his car; he can match a toy zebra, to the word; he understands what a 'nap' is and what a 'wave' is (which he functionally does not yet do). These books have helped us more than any therapy service has provided so far. He has been able to comprehend words and communicate to us, and we have been able to understand him. We are now building on this concept to help him make his own choices and teach him Makaton signs for the words so that he can use sign language to 'talk' to us. We would never have known where to start if it weren't for these books. And I am sure he would be much more frustrated if he didn't have the opportunity to communicate through these books. Thank you so much!!!! Simone, Perth, Australia

They cleverly pair words with amusing scenes of animals and children. My baby loved watching these videos, and I was flabbergasted when I found that he could understand written words when I showed him word cards. There is a crucial period of time when babies’ minds are geared towards learning words, whether spoken, signed, or read. It makes sense to teach them written words during this period. These DVDs teach reading the way babies learn best – by making it fun!

Your Baby Can Read! is engaging and fun for toddlers. The characters are easy for children to identify with and there is plenty of repetition to aid the learning process. We got the full set of DVDs when Jackson was 7 months is now almost 17 months – I had read about it on a baby website. Since we got it, we’ve been playing it for him almost daily for the past year.

This past week, we noticed that Jackson was reading the words on the screen out loud for the first time. I wanted to see if he could read by himself, so when a word came up, I pushed pause (before it was said out loud) and asked Jackson, “What does that word say?” He would either say the word, or point to it (like his eyes or his legs). When the word “cow” came up, he said “Moo!!”

I thought he may have memorized the DVD, so I put in one he hadn’t seen in a few months, and again, he could read the words. I opened up a book he hadn’t seen for a while, and pointed to the word “nose” (without a picture) and he pointed to his nose.

I am just amazed that a 16 month-old can read! His vocabulary has increased significantly in the past few weeks as well – he can name many objects, and can act out actions when asked. He also LOVES books – he prefers books to all other toys and activities (even TV!)

While I can’t prove that the DVDs made my child read early, I can definitely say it provided an avenue to learn by having simple words on a screen and actions to describe the words – it made encouraging him to read very easy.

Pros: Effective, reasonably priced, appealing to babies

Cons: There's no follow-on products to this great series!

This set of tapes is the best investment I've made in my child's early education. I bought this product when my son was around eight months old as it seemed to be more interesting than Sesame Street. My son found the videos of words, real children and animals captivating. Also, the images are age-appropriate, the narrator reads the words clearly and the pace is perfect. Having the whole series over the past seven months, he is able to recognize all the words in the video and has shown great interest in words and speaking. He has a rapidly expanding vocabulary, well ahead of his peer group.

I have tried other tapes such as the Baby Bumblebee series but he prefers these because of the narration. I recommend the Infant Learning video series to all my friends with newborn children. It really works.

Pros: Babies learn to read effortlessly when exposed to written words. Easy for parents.

Cons: No cons. It works.

I bought the set at 3 months.Played them 1 to 2 times a day and at 15 months she could read, even words she had never seen before. At 21 months her speech is clear and she reads everything.

See for yourself. Google (Autumn Boit) for the link to WBAL in Baltimore Babies Reading to see my daughter read.

Give your child this gift, you"ll be happy you did.

Pros:My son is reading words at 16 months.

Cons:There are only 5 tapes - we want more!!!

These tapes are amazing. My son loved the videos which he has been watching every day since he was 3months old. I never really tested him to see what he could read. One day when he was 16 months old he pulled a book off of his book shelf and read the words "Pooh" and "Happy" pointing at each word as he read it. I finally made flash cards of some of the words and he read most of them. If he could pronounce the word he would read it aloud and those words he was unable to say he gestured like in the video! These videos are amazing.

In a word - shocking. My daughter began using these videos once per day for 30 mins. at around 9 months of age. Because I was conscious of the ample evidence that suggests attention problems from TV watching prior to age 2 I limited her TV watching to these videos only until age 2 and only for 30 mins daily. That said, because she was able to watch nothing else, they certainly grabbed her attention.

At 16 months, she was reading at least 100 sight words and now at age 2 1/2, she is fully reading -- I mean, READING. She reads books cover-to-cover that are intended for 1st and 2nd graders. I have read negative comments that babies just memorize the words and cannot work through unknown words they encounter. In my experience, this is definitely not the case. For example, my daughter often sounds out words using syllables, such as "Gil-bert" or "Mc-Don-alds" even though she has not been explicitly taught these skills.

Moreover, and potentially most importantly, she has acquired a love of learning and reading at a very early age. She is always asking me what words mean and her verbal skills are extremely advanced for her age. I must mention that she was never "pushed" into reading too early, despite what some critics of these videos may believe. Instead, I believe that I just chose a different option for the 30 min of daily TV that most under 2 year olds see anyway. Now, she is interested and seeks out reading opportunities and books INDEPENDENT of any intervention and even asks to go to the library for new books. Reading at grade level is perhaps the most important predictor of later success in school, and I couldn't recommend these videos more highly to encourage an early start.

We have nothing but praise for the fantastic products you offer, and thankfully, three intelligent, happy daughters who have all developed amazing skills using the YBCR system.

Our chief victory, however, concerns Chloe, our five year old. She was born with Cri Du Chat Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that causes global developmental delay. With Chloe, it has also caused dyspraxia, meaning that she cannot produce speech sounds; so you won’t get a video of her reading aloud, but I do hope her story more than compensates for the lack of visuals!

We decided very early that we were going to try to have Chloe reach her potential, though, like every parent, we didn’t know what that was. We ran intensive developmental programs with her from birth, one of which included a requirement that she be exposed to as much large, clear printed material as possible. We devised flashcards (which is how I was taught to read by my father when I was a baby – I’m now a linguist…go figure) and bought computer programs that would flash words on the screen, as well as reading to her and posting words for common objects all around the house.

Keen though we were, our other two children, Sasha and Imogen were then conceived and born at two year intervals, and life became increasingly hectic. We needed to keep up Chloe’s interest in literature and also to give the other two a similar opportunity to develop to their highest potential. I began to quietly despair, when days and then weeks went by with very little attention to their programs.

I had seen computer programs and DVDs offering to perform miracles with early literacy, but being a linguist and literacy specialist myself, they all seemed rather hollow.

I then heard about YBCR on a TV current affairs show and was immediately struck by Dr. Titzer’s approach. It not only reflected mine, but my father’s too. I knew it was right, that it was the solution to my time problems and to the problem of providing the correct input.

I bought the whole series and eagerly anticipated its arrival. My excitement was rewarded when I first played the starter DVD and all three of the kids came rushing toward the TV with unbridled interest (these were kids who very seldom watched TV and mainly ignored it if it were on). They were enthralled. They sat, they watched, they learned.

Life moved on, I was comfortable with their development and the two younger ones, at least, continued to amaze us with their language skills. Chloe started school and her home schooling came to an end.

We wanted to do one last thing with Chloe before sending her on her academic way, and that was to see a communication specialist who might give us a way to help Chloe express herself, as it was becoming apparent that she wasn’t going to develop out of the stage of meaningful sounds and into words. We took her for an assessment at which time it was declared that she had absolutely no intellectual disability (we already knew that, but it was good to have it objectively confirmed).

At her subsequent appointment, the specialist showed her a picture of a cat, and with a large keyboard connected to a computer screen, asked her to find the first letter of the animal. She didn’t just find the first letter, she spelled the whole blessed word! Now please bear in mind, spelling is something I have never directly taught Chloe.

Next she was shown a cow, and proceeded to spell that out, complete with difficult digraph /ow/! She also spelled “apple” and other complex words. I was absolutely blown away, not to mention moved all over again and reeling in sheer amazement at this quiet little girl, so seemingly disabled, yet bursting with potential!

YBCR was a major contribution to Chloe’s success. It took up the reins just when I needed it most and gave first grade literacy input to a girl who will continue to confound us all.
Here is a picture of Chloe getting stuck into the weekend papers!

Kind regards,

I bought the DVD's, books and flashcards for my daughter. She is now 11 months old and she absolutely loves the programme and I am so impressed with the amount she already comprehends. I just want to do my best to keep it fun for her. Regards, Karen

I have a MAD passion for teaching babies to read. When I taught my daughter Sarah (now 27), I was utterly amazed that she could actually read at about 9 months. Sarah, for some reason, was more advanced than her daughter Carlie and, at 15 months, Sarah could pick out any of a hundred words for you that we had in a box. Carlie's not at that stage yet. When Sarah first started to speak a lot, at about 16 months, she read the words for us, saying them for the first time as she read them. Sarah had read well over 100 books by age 5. At age 7 she placed 3rd in a spelling bee. The winner was 12. When tested for her spelling level in a private school at 8 years old, she shocked the teachers by not misspelling any of the words on the test, so she did not take spelling after that. As I said, Sarah now attends UCLA School of Law. She finished her undergraduate work at UCLA with close to a 3.8 GPA.

We started Carlie on word cards at 4 1/2 months and she could recognize the word GRANDPA on my shirt at that age. Testing babies is delicate because they don't like the pressure and they don't think it's a big deal to prove they can read, so it's hard to tell what they can do in the first few months of teaching. By 9 months or so Carlie would consistently pick out the right word when asked to choose from two words. We started her on the Your Baby Can Read DVDs at 11 months and she could not get enough of them. It has added probably 100 new words to her reading vocabulary. Now, at 15 months, she's seen probably 200 or more words and she knows 10 dog breeds, 15 bird species, 15 musical instruments, MANY animals and we are working on her alphabet and U.S. presidents. The more she learns the more basic knowledge she has to build on.

I have always been amazed that parents do NOT use this. It is ridiculously easy and the kids just love it.

Sophie Can Read!

This is a video clip of Sophie reading words at 17 months. When Sophie was 16 months old, we found a Your Baby Can Read! (YBCR) video at the library and checked it out. I remember hearing about the series when I was pregnant but laughed at the thought that babies could actually read. The amazing thing is, babies sure can read!!!

Sophie immediately loved YBCR. Her face would light up as soon as the music from the video started. She seems to like the children and the singing in the series. But at the same time, she's learning written words. It was fun to watch her respond to questions asked in the video, for example, "Can you touch your nose?" and attempt to motion, "Eentsy Weentsy Spider."

I think it's great that she can interact while watching television. The video was due after we renewed once already, so we bought the whole series for her that included the sliding flash cards. Within a month she was reading 10+ words and shocking all our friends and family. Her grandmas and grandpas think Sophie's the smartest thing in the world. My sister told me that I should contact one of the television network news stations to let them know that Sophie can read. Then I told my sister that babies even younger than Sophie can also read and to check out www.yourbabycanread.com au. We don't realize what our little ones are capable of and how much they love learning at this age. Sophie loves it when we sit with her and give her a "quiz" with the sliding flash cards. We're so proud of her and can tell that she is proud of herself too.

Now when we're waiting for our food at restaurants we spend the time with either with a magna-doodle or the crayons and the paper place mat they give to us and write out words for Sophie to read while we wait. She has a blast and others around us tell us that we better save our money because little Sophie is heading to Harvard. We're just glad she loves reading and learning this early on and believe she's got a great head start.

When I took Sophie to her 18-month check-up, her pediatrician nearly fell out of her seat when she found out Sophie could read. Her doctor started writing words for her that I had not practiced with her on flash cards but Sophie was able to recognize them and read them to my amazement. After we posted the above video clip on our personal blog, tons of our friends called or emailed to ask questions about YBCR and now have all pretty much bought the series themselves. I can't stop telling new moms about this great program. Sophie is now 20 months old and will now point out words in books that we read to her and say, "dog, cat, eyes, giraffe, gorilla, book, and etc." Soon she'll be reading the books to us!!!

Thanks YBCR!

Your Baby Can Read program has been the best starter reading program our home schooling. It is easily adjusted to fit our children's varying learning styles. Best of all no one feels left out of "school time", even our four month-old is included. Everyone thinks our children have advanced abilities for their age...I am quick to set them straight and share that reading at their age is available for everyone!! Dr. Bob's program has given our family a wonderful start with schooling, thanks Y.B.C.R.!!" Erin

We started using the program when she was three months old. She has always enjoyed watching the DVD's & at about eight months, we realised she could actually read some words. We printed up some flash cards of the words on each DVD & began showing them to her as well. At first she could only communicate that she new the word by touching a body part, but as she grew older she began to say the words. The best thing about the program, is that Emily now loves to read. She always asks for us to read to her & loves pointing out & saying words that she recognises in books. She is now learning new words that are not in the program, just by reading books with us. We are so pleased that Emily loves to read, it will enable her to enjoy her future education. Cheers Richard, Rebecca & Emily

Hi, my name is Aleksandra and I just wanted to say that your DVD is fantastic! I have a 4 month old son (will turn four months in another week) and he gets so excited when I put the DVD on for him. I have been putting on the Starter video for him when he was a new born (during his first week)and I started showing him Volume 1 when he was 3 months old. I play the Starter and Volume 1 video to him every day. Sometimes I play Volume 1 twice a day.

My son has just turned 22 months he can read 60 words easy, he knows the alphabet in order as well as mixing it up, he also counts to 15 so far and has now in the past week has started to read a three word sentence, he also sings nursery rhymes, he's also great with colours i could go on and on.

I've got a whole heap of videos of him and I'm making more, he gets a little shy at times to read in front of people he doesn't know until he warms up to them.

I have to thank this site for providing the materials for my baby's start in life its wonderful to see how proud of himself he is when he reads words etc, all my friends and neighbours are in shock with how clever he is. I'm a very proud mum that's for sure.

thank you

I saw a great reaction from my 5 year old son who was asking me if he could stay up and watch the first dvd one more time. He loved the format especially the nursery rhymes which he knew from kinda. He seemed really happy and when I stopped the dvd he went and got a book to flip through. All this was much more than I expected.

Thankyou

I have had my 2 sons watching YBCR. One son started watching at 3 months and one at 4 ½ years. They were both watching the same videos together and seemed to be equally enthralled. Subsequently my younger son now just over 2 years old has better reading skills then his older brother. Coming from a bilingual family home I am also pleased that my sons learning to read and speak English with the assistance of YBCR does not seemed to have affected their ability to pick up Arabic as a second language.

YBCR and the results it has given us has also made me and my husband enthusiastic and aware of the possibilities for teaching our sons around the home. We now have cards up all over the house and try to always be approaching everything in a manner that can pass on new knowledge and skills to our children. We are so glad that we found YBCR and can see the difference it has made to our second child.

Thanks for such a great product.
