Thanks to 'Your Baby Can Read' my 16th
month old son can already read and clearly pronounce words such as: dog, cat,
duck, truck, hi, car, book, moon, and others, as well as doing the appropriate
actions for wave, clap, arms up, head, ears, toes, and the list goes on.
I continue to brag to everyone who will listen, however I
can see the look of scepticism, especially by those mothers with 4 and 5 year
olds who have only ever been read to, and never encouraged to recognise the
structure of words and sentences.
My little boy shows an obvious sense of achievement every
time he conquers a new word or action, and always seems far more interested in
watching a 'Your Baby Can Read' dvd, than 'The Wiggles', or 'Thomas the Tank
Engine'.
